🧔🏽♂️ Dad Thoughts: Places They Can Go
I saw a video recently that stuck with me. The main point: it's important to let our kids see us do the things we love, the things we're actually good at. If nothing else, so they have a connection to us to come back to.
Nora's still too young, but I can't wait to share my hobbies with her and learn hers too. With Niam, it's already happening in small ways. I find myself getting into his interests just as much as he gets into mine. Right now he's obsessed with the movie GOAT, so I've watched it more times than I can count. We watch football and basketball together, or really, he loves watching it with me. And I'm already looking forward to when he's old enough for us to actually play video games together.
Jason Lewis put it best in the video: "I think the things you love, you have to share them. You have to invite your kids to participate with you, if for nothing else, so that when they get older, there are these things in the world, places they can go, that bring them back to those moments of connection."
I don't want my kids to just know me as Dad. I want them to know me.
🤝 Know a local business that wants in?
